The Florida Coalition for Peace and Justice is a network of (mostly) Elders with a lifetime of experience in working for a sustainable, just and peaceful future.
The organization was founded in 1982 and has provided educational programs through peace camps, conferences and events on Weaving a Culture of Peace.
We offer that legacy to our children and grandchildren -- and to future generations. We are connecting individuals and groups with the ideas, people and organizations that are working for a better world.
We use the Earth Charter as a guide. Thousands of people from all walks of life in every part of the world helped to write the Earth Charter. Since it was launched in the year 2000, millions have used the Earth Charter in creative ways for education and inspiration. Their actions offer hope to the billions of us who want to live in harmony with the natural systems that sustain life on Earth.
Our goal is to bring light and life to these closing words of the Earth Charter:
Let ours be a time remembered for the awakening of a new reverence for life,
the firm resolve to achieve sustainability, the quickening of the struggle
for justice and peace, and the joyful celebration of life.
